Aftercare and Healing Process for Eyebrow Semi-Permanent Makeup

11.24.2021 | Tips for Eyebrows

Without proper aftercare, your beautifully finished eyebrows will not stay in place.
Please follow the aftercare instructions for at least 7-10 days after the procedure, until the inked skin has fully recovered. Aftercare instructions may vary by practitioner and salon. Be sure to follow the instructions provided by your treatment provider.

Aftercare Procedure

First of all, a clear liquid (Lymph fluid) may come out from the treated area immediately after the procedure. You should absorb the fluid with a clean tissue every 30 minutes or so. This should be done until the leachate stops coming out. It usually stops within a few hours after the procedure. If the leachate is left untreated, a thick scab will form. And when the scab peels off, the ink will be removed along with it, causing the color to not set properly.

Gently wash the treated area twice a day, morning and night, using unscented soap and water, and rinse thoroughly with water. This will remove bacteria and dead skin and keep the area clean.
After washing, gently absorb the water with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of the cream specified by the store all over the area. Never rub or pull the skin.
Apply a thin layer of the cream to the entire area 3-5 times a day to prevent the area from drying out.
The purpose of the cream is to moisturize the treated area and prevent the entry of bacteria from the outside.

Before showering, apply a little more cream or Vaseline to the treated area to protect it from water and water pressure. After showering, wipe it off and reapply a thin layer of the cream.

Until the treated area is completely healed, DON'T do any of the following.

  • Getting the treated area wet in the sea, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, etc. (except for washing your face in the morning and evening)
  • Make-up or using cosmetics on or around the area to be treated
  • Sunburn
  • Excessive exercise or sweating

Normally, there is a period of about 4 weeks during the healing process when the color will appear darker or lighter. After that, the color will settle down to 30-40% lighter than the initial finish.
After a week or so, the scabs may peel off and the lines may temporarily disappear or the color may partially disappear, but this is a common phenomenon and the color will gradually return over 4-6 weeks. You may feel a little uneasy, but try to keep an eye on it for four weeks.

Also, permanent make-up is basically not completed in one treatment. As you go through the process of healing, there will inevitably be areas where the lines are broken or the color doesn't apply properly.
During the touch-up session, we will fix them and adjust the details.
Normally, you will need to come back for a touch-up session in about 6-8 weeks, but it can be done as early as 4 weeks later.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact your treatment provider at any time.
